The arrest of IPDI spokesman is unlawful and provocative
The unlawful arrest of Comr. Ezekiel Daniel by DSS yesterday is
barbaric and insensitive, away to silent the non violent active
voice of better Niger Delta. The military should not be politically
motivated to arrest young activists who have come to understand
the plight of their people mentally enslaved by the Nigerian
Government.
This is not a peaceful way of the said dialogue to curb insurgency
in the Niger Delta. It Was the Simeon Bebenimibo but today,
Ezekiel Daniel. This military continues trend of arresting innocent
youths is provocative.
The government should engage the youths for a proactive
dialogue of the activists grievances rather than the arresting
methods. The arrest of the Spokesperson of IPDI is only a sign of
Government insincerities to find lasting solutions to the Niger
Delta issues. If these issues are not diplomatically handled by
Federal Government it will only increase the chaotic stage of the
region. This arrest is a sign that the activists have verbally
intimidated the Nigerian Government.
The Government should proffer the alternative solutions than
violence. or was Ezekiel in EFCC money laundering list when the
said government is fighting corruption as change in the means of
corrupt cabinet?
Why must he be arrested? and how?
Comr. Asiayei Enaibo, The president Committee for Rural
Development Movement (CRDM) lamented on this ugly trend and
blame the government of their new approach to the Niger Delta
issues with caution. Enaibo, added.
