Prior to the heavy shock that rocked members and supporters of the PDP during the last (2015) presidential elections, many have called for total rebranding of the party to make it attractive and acceptable once more to Nigerians. But to the amazement of many, instead of packing the shafts left from the last general elections, the party has been battling with leadership crisis during this past few months.

Commentators have blamed these crisis on elders of the PDP who many see as fighting for their personal interest above party interest. If the party must fight it's way back to the top spot, then the party needs to start considering the option of a brand new leadership at the national level with young and energetic individuals holding demanding positions like the office of the National Publicity Secretary.

It is eminent to note that Nigerian youths are prepared to take the center stage in decision making at all levels, the call for youths participation in decision making is a mantra that knows no bounds.

Involving youths in key positions in the PDP is a development that will change the perception of Nigerians towards the PDP, the average Nigerian will once again envisage the PDP as a party that accommodates all irrespective of age barriers. If the PDP must regain it's popularity on the minds of Nigerians, this is the time to get a marketer who is popular to Nigerians and the International community.

The new national publicity secretary must be someone popular on the traditional and new media and must understand the key essentials of how to use both the traditional and new media to influence human decisions. 70% of Nigerians who fall within the age range of 18-80years are active subscribers to the social media community and it is appropriate to have a National Publicity Secretary who understands the basic principles of navigating on the social space.

A national publicity secretary must be a vibrant, young, articulate, intelligent, fearless and media exposed individual, both at the traditional and new media level, all of these attributes you find in the person of Deji Adeyanju.

Who is Deji Adeyanju?
