Abia women visit Uche Ogah, call for peace to reign in the state
Abia state women under the banner of Abia Women Assembly, paid a courtesy visit to Dr Uche Sampson Ogah of Masters Energy Group at his Uturu residence and called for peace to reign in the state to enable fast paced development as championed by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
The women drawn from all the Senatorial Zones of the state who were led to Uturu by the Former Commisioner for Transport in the State and Director General of Women Mobilization, Chief Barr. Nnenna Obewu, used the visit to passionately appeal to all politicians in the state to eschew politics of bitterness and focus on the good of the state.
According to Chief Obewu, "we all witnessed the recent Anambra polls where politicians united after the election with non going to court to litigate the outcome. Abia politicians should learn something from that and end the unnecessary pre and post election bickering that only serves to under-develop our dear state and make us the laughing stock of others."
The women appealed to Dr Ogah to work closely with Governor Ikpeazu to realize the dream of a greater Abia State.
In his response, the Chairman of Masters Energy, Dr Uche Ogah, described Governor Ikpeazu as his brother and accepted the need for peace to reign in the state. He pledged his support for "any initiative that will ensure that there is peace and development in Abia State".
He commended the efforts of the DG and her team and stated that "women are the the pillars both in the family and society at large and should always be listened to." People Are Also Reading
