"This scammer is out again" ...Nigerians react to Orji Uzor Kalu’s interview

A cross section of Nigerians responded with anger to comments credited to former Governor Of Abia State and APC Chieftain, Orji Uzor Kalu in published excepts from an interview reportedly granted after the self acclaimed leader of APC in the South East led his party to a humiliating defeat in the just concluded Anambra Governorship election won by the APGA candidate, Governor Willie Obiano.

It will be recalled that after relocating to Anambra State for weeks and publicly boasting that APC will win the November 18 poll.

Kalu said: “We are hoping to win and that is the reason we are here in the state. We are going to win the election, we will do our best. We as a party are well prepared for the election and we are here to win.

“The good people of Anambra state have been well oriented on the benefits of mainstream politics and having the APC take over the leadership of the state will attract more federal presence to the state and indeed the South-East. That is why they will vote for the APC come November 18.”

With APC failing to win a single local government, Kalu in the interview, published at Facebook by one Jimmy Abia, boasted that:  “APC will win Abia Governorship because the circumstances in Abia is different from what is obtainable is Anambra. Obiano was paying salaries.Obiano is not owing pensioners. Obiano built roads and bridges. An average Anambra is happy with Obiano. Can we say the same thing of Abia State?”

Angry Nigerians took to the social media timeline to bash the APC chieftain.

Maduka Ikoh–Orji Uzor Kalu is a shameless scammer who is currently on a mission to scam President Buhari to escape jail time from his N2.9b fraud trial. It is a shame that the man is responsible for the underdevelopment of Abia is now attacking Governor Ikpeazu who is quietly cleaning his criminal mess. 

Even the salary, pensions and gratuity outstanding in Abia State go back to his era in power that was marked by mamacracy, Okija shrine rituals and profligate looting of the state to set up a private empire that is fast crumbling.

In a sane country OUK will be in jail when Abia Governorship election is conducted and Nigerians are waiting to see if President Buhari means business with his anti-corruption war. It is a shame that the same Buhari is funding Orji through NDDC contracts that are badly executed.

APC should know that one key reason Anambra people fled from their candidate was the presence of Orji Uzor Kalu in Anambra State. He is bad market to all Igbo people.
