Abia:Investment Haven in the South East,Says Commissioner For Information
Abia State has been described as the new investment haven in the south east, following the focused developmental strides of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu that is anchored around the focused promotion of Made in Aba products and statewide infrastructural renewal efforts that have positively placed ABIA state on international investment spotlight.
The state Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, stated this while receiving in audience the Management team of CHECKBEST NIGERIA LTD, a Private Investment Company that is executing the development of the new ETCHE ROAD Aba Shopping Mall, led by the MD/CEO, Mr Chidozie Njoku, who were in his office to intimate him on the progress of their investment mission to Abia State.
Responding to the presentation made by the visiting team, the Commissioner charged the company to deliver the project on time as Abians are not interested in Investors who come to only sign MOUs and abandon the relevant project site afterwards.
According to him; "the Government of Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is in a hurry to deliver on the 5 pillars of the administration, which includes trade and commerce, and as our partners we expect you to honor your commitments in terms of timeliness and quality of the new Etche Road Mall".
The Commissioner who expressed confidence that the company has what it takes to deliver the best mall in the south east assured of the government's support to ensure early realization of the project, through the provision of information, security and good road infrastructure that will ease movement of customers from neighboring states to the Shopping Mall. He expressed optimism that with the ongoing reconstruction of Port Harcourt road, Faulks road and other key roads leading to different markets at Aba by the state government business activities will improve tremendously in the state with more investors lining up to do business in Abia state.
In his address, Mr Chidozie Njoku pledged the company's commitment to deliver the project on time, in addition to executing related corporate responsibility projects at Aba to enhance the business environment. He confirmed that the company has concluded the clearing of the project site and plan to commence actual construction work this Friday.
Mr Njoku also assured the commissioner that the required fund for the project has been fully mobilized to ensure uninterrupted project execution with expected completion in the second quarter of 2018. He also expressed satisfaction with the high level of interest showed in the project by traders at Aba and applauded the Ikpeazu administration for making investment in Abia easier than other states of Nigeria.
