What Government owe entrepreneurs is VISIBILITY – By @ogonna_blessing

From inception, the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has never hidden its passion and interest in promoting made in Aba products. It was a key campaign promise for the Governor in 2015: promotion of Made In Aba brands.

No one can dispute the fact that Aba has got potentials – amazing talents. Owing to lack of visibility occasioned by absence of support from previous administrations, some of these potentials withered.

Governor Ikpeazu, both in action and words, has continued to harness these potentials just like he promised.

Between January 2016 and October 2017, the government had in partnership with some establishments, organized Made in Aba Fashion show. The visibility these shows gave to start-ups like Fashionista Apparel and Norax pebble cannot be disputed. Today, people all over the world proudly wear designs made by those start-ups. The latest fashion show in New York City produced Brand Ambassadors/Promoters of these designs made in Aba.
More so, the fashion industry within the last 2 years has experienced a massive influx of designers due to the visibility being created by the government of the day. If only the Government had all the monies it needed, more start-ups would have been sponsored.

Ikpeazu’s administration  is relentlessly enthroning Made in Aba products on the global market. There is currently an ongoing economic revolution in God’s own state. People now take pride in Made in Aba Apparels, shoes, bags etc. Little wonder Ambassador George Obiozor, a Former Nigerian ambassador to the United States, described our Governor as an emerging high priest of economic development initiatives.

In his words: “Abia (State) under Dr Ikpeazu’s leadership is increasingly emerging as a dynamic growing economy, attracting a host of investors and offering an industrial base, comparable to other well established states like Lagos, Ogun and Anambra.

“He has brought his scientific expertise to governance and this has resulted in the various initiatives Abia State has taken towards the growth, development and diversification of the state’s economy.

“With us here today is our Guest Speaker (Governor Ikpeazu) who is an emerging high priest of economic development initiatives and who is using industrialization and diversification as catalysts for socio-economic development.”

In time to come, emerging start-ups will also enjoy the visibility and support the government gave to existing start-ups like Fashionista Apparel and Norax pebble.

The Vision is to get Aba right

The goal is to support as many entrepreneurs as possible; to capture more start-ups

Expect a success story from this Administration

It can only get better

It will always end in praise
