Ondo assembly confirms ex-govs’ sons, journalist as commissioners
Ondo State House of Assembly on Tuesday confirmed the 18 commissioner-nominees forwarded to it by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Prominent on the list of those confirmed are sons of two former governors of the state, Adegboyega Adefarati; and Femi Agagu both of whom have lost their fathers.
A journalist, Donald Ojugo also made the list of those confirmed by the lawmakers.
The Speaker, David Oleyelogun, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Selection Committee, said the nominees were confirmed after “a thorough scrutiny.”
Oleyelogun stated that the report of the committee was later presented to the assembly which unanimously adopted and confirmed the nominees.
The list of confirmed nominees include: Toafiq Abdulsalam (Akoko North-East); Rasheed Badmus (Akoko North-West); Prince Solagbade Amodeni (Akoko South-East); (Akoko South-West); Saka Yusuf Ogunleye (Akure North); Mrs. Omowumi Olatunji-Edet (Akure South)
Others are Yemi Olowolabi (Idanre) Dr. Wahab Adegbenro (Ifedore); Funso Esan (Ilaje); Wale Akinterinwa ( Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo); Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan; (Irele) Olurimisi Ismaila (Odigbo); Prof. Bayonle Ademodi; (Ondo East); Lola Fagbemi; (Ondo West) Otunba Timilehin Adelegbe (Ose); Kola Olawoye Esq (Owo).
They will be sworn in at a date to be announced by the Governor.
