Pan African Group, NBM of Africa donates chairs, desks and books to Government Secondary School, Qua.
In furtherance of the group's commitment to contribute to the ailing state of education in the country, a Pan African organisation, Neo Black Movement of Africa (NBM) has said it would donate hundred of chairs, desks and books to government secondary school Akim, Qua, in Cross River State.
The donation, NBM said is as part of the group's initiative to see that education is accessible to all regardless of gender, religion or tribe.
The gesture, which is coming on the heels of NBM’s 40th anniversary convention taking place in the historic city of Calabar, from may 18-21, 2017.
An executive of the group's National Public Relations Committee, Dr. Uyosa stressed the need for government, groups and individuals to take responsibility in seeing to the provision of education to all especially the girl child.
To this end, Dr. Uyosa charged government officials to do away with corruption and be more focused on things that will help facilitate nation building.
His words: ‘The Nigerian education system has been identified from several researches as a key developmental area that requires the attention of the government. This time, NBM will be donating hundreds of new chairs, desks and books to Government Secondary School, Qua, Cross River state as part of the developmental activities slated for the 2017 convention which will take place between 18-21 May, 2017. During this convention, NBM of Africa will be collaborating with the Cross River state ministry of Health to provide medical assistance to populace in Calabar, where a massive campaign on Meningitis will be carried out.’
In addition, the Pan African organisation expressed its continuous condemnation of violence and every form of criminality in Nigeria and beyond.
