Fayose:I’ll seek completion of my unfinished tenure come 2018
The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has said that he intend to seek to complete his aborted first term which was aborted through his impeachment in 2006.
He said that his current campaign of continuity should be viewed as an attempt to seek a judicial interpretation to complete his aborted tenure. He noted that the Apex Court had ruled that he was illegally removed from office in October 2006, seven months before the expiration of his tenure.
The governor said this on a state-wide live Television programme tagged: “The Governor Explains”, monitored by reporters. Fayose also said that he had initiated a court action against the Federal Government on loan being obtained, to determine whether it has right to spend the money.
He said that going by the Supreme Court Ruling, all revenues ought to be kept in an account and then shared among the three tiers of government. He also alleged that striking members of the Fuel Marketers in Ekiti State intended to frustrate the burial of late military governor of Western Region, General Adeyinka Adebayo. Fayose alleged that the Marketers met with the opposition party in Ekiti, the All Progressives Congress and resolved to shut down so that visitors and residents would not be able to pay their last respect.
His Words: “The Fayose continuity can be viewed as an attempt to seek to complete my tenure that was aborted through Illegal Impeachment which the Apex Court has declared illegal.
“The Supreme Court has ruled that all monies received must be kept in an account and shared among the three tiers of government.”
