WARRI SOUTH BYE-ELECTION RESULTS: Modu sheriff, Cairo Ojugbo not political factors in PDP. GOV OKOWA, AHMED MAKARFI VINDICATED

The results of the just concluded Warri South Constituency 1 bye-election has finally vindicated the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for the fact that the Modu Sheriff-PDP-Ojugbo candidate was sufficiently rejected by the people of the constituency and Deltans.

 The final results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) gave victory to the Accord Party candidate, Princess Mrs Shola Ogbemi Daibo who garnered 5, 860 votes, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Prince Stanley Emiko came second with 2,210 votes while Modu Sheriff and Cairo Ojugbo (PDP) candidate, Mr Adeyibo Winford Ojere, came 3rd with a shameful meagre 182 votes.

 Executive Assistant on Communication to the Governor, Fred Oghenesivbe in a statement said the result of the bye-election has rubbished all the public show so far displayed via the mass media by Modu Sheriff, Dr Cairo Ojugbo and their co-travellers. "It will be recalled that before the bey-election the spent political forces of Sheriff, Ojugbo and Ogbaburon ignorantly projected themselves as superior politicians in Delta State and elsewhere in Nigeria.

 "Politics of self imposition is truly very destructive as can be seen from the shameful and disgraceful outing by the Sheriff-Ojugbo PDP candidate, Mr Adeyibo Winford Ojere, in the just concluded Warri South Constituency 1 election results declared by INEC. "Its sad that out of the 8,186 votes, Modu Sheriff-PDP-Ojugbo candidate scrambled, fumbled and wobbled to garner an embarrassing meagre 182 votes, an indication that the candidate's promoters are spent political forces without electoral value in Delta political power game and elsewhere in Nigeria.

 "His Excellency the Governor of Delta State and indeed the happy and united Delta PDP family under the chairmanship of Olorogun Kingsley Esiso has therefore been vindicated. "Partisan Politics is more than media exhibition of self ego and power of oratory. Ojugbo is a master of polished English and a specialist in crafty political postulations that produces little or no election results. His television drama and show of eloquence goes to no issue.

 "The actual worth of Modu Sheriff and Cairo Ojugbo in Delta politics and by extention Nigeria, has been revealed in their candidate's shamedul and embarrassing performance in the just released results by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

 "The Ahmed Makarfi National Caretaker Committee faction which Gov Okowa and Esiso truly belongs will continue to wax stronger, doing the needful to relegate Modu Sheriff -Ojugbo and their invisible sponsors to the dustbin of political history in Nigeria and by extention Delta State. Oghenesivbe further asserted that the combination of corw political master strategists; Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Gov Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and the Makarfi PDP structure will continue to dominate Nigeria and Delta politics no matter the gang up by the spent political forces of Modu Sheriff, Cairo Ojugbo and their invisible financiers. The Makarfi group did not present any candidate for the Warri South Constituency 1 bye-election because of the appeal before the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

 The outcome of the appeal will determine the direction thereafter and we strongly believe that the Makarfi group will be victorious at the Supreme Court, the statement added.
