ADEWOLE, AHUKANNAH COMMEND IKPEAZU FOR HOSTING THE 59TH NATIONAL COUNCIL ON HEALTH AND HIS GIANT STRIDE IN THE HEALTH SECTOR.

The Honourable minister, federal ministry of health, Prof. Isaac Adewole has commended the executive governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu (PhD ) for successfully hosting the 59th national council on health.

Prof. Adewole said this on thursday during the official opening of the 59th National Council on Health at the international conference centre, Umuahia.

“I thank our esteem host, His Excellency the executive Governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for his hospitality and generosity in providing this conducive environment for the meeting and also for being committed to the good health of Abians” he said.

The health minister who doubles as the chairman of the National council on health ( the highest decision making council in the health sector ) said that the 59th national council on health with the theme “National Health Policy: A Tool For Achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC)” has 4 main aims to ensure coverage for those mostly in need:  provision of physical access, financial risk protection, qualitative care and equity.

Earlier in his speech the honourable commissioner, Abia state ministry of health, Dr. John Ahukannah  thanked Governor Ikpeazu for his support in the health sector , he said:Dr . Okezie Ikpeazu from the onset  anchored the thrust of his administration on 5 pillars and other enablers of which health ranks first amongst equal.

Dr Ahukannah said that on assumption of office, Dr. Ikpeazu adopted 1 Primary Healthcare Center / ward for which the health minister proved Abia right by making it his health policy thrust

He thanked the governor for his support in prosecuting the National Council on Health.
