Okowa, Uduaghan Condemn Rumour Mongering

Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and his predecessor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan have condemned the spread of rumours that negatively impact on the society.
"With all sorts of media for dissemination of information, most times, people will not have access to the right information and this is not helping our nation," Governor Okowa said, while Dr Uduaghan asserted, "let us reduce the rumour, it does not help government when you create rumour."
Both leaders spoke today (08/12/16) at the commissioning of Quest Broadcasting House, a private television cum radio station in Ogor, Ughelli North local government area of Delta State.
Governor Okowa commended the Chairman of the media outfit, Chief Gregory Edor for utilizing the investment-friendly environment in the state, noting, "the broadcast outfit will help give the right information to the people."
"We are very glad that this edifice is in Delta State; you (Chief Edor) are obviously in partnership with the people of Delta State and I want to assure you that we will be part of this project; it is good to know that you have already, employed 50 persons which shows that when private investors come in, there will be job opportunities for our people," the governor said.
While lauding Ogor Community for its peaceful disposition towards investors and investments, Governor Okowa assured prospective investors that the peaceful climate has been created in all parts of the state for investments to thrive, reiterating, "our communities, our traditional rulers have seen reasons to be good hosts to investors and investments because, they are aware of the benefits of doing so."
Earlier, former Governor Uduaghan had thanked Governor Okowa for creating the enabling environment for investments to thrive in the state.
"The governor, Senator Okowa is doing a lot to attract investors, let us encourage investors and investments because, the greatest beneficiaries will be the communities, our people," Dr Uduaghan said.
Chief Edor in a welcome address, said, Honeywave Communications Investment limited is the parent company of Quest 93.1 FM and Quest Television, adding that its signals would be received throughout Delta State.
