ASPIMS: New General Manager Assumes Office Promises To Bring In New Innovations Into The Agency

Umuahia --There was an official change of baton in the Abia State
Passenger Integrated Manifest Scheme (ASPIMS) on Wednesday
the 20th of April 2016 at the premises of the agency as the hand
over notes were presented to the new general manager of the
agency Chief Kingsley Onyemachi Megwara by the out going
General Manager Mr. Ossy Nwamuo.
During his hand over speech Mr. Nwamuo highlighted his
achievements and challenges as the 9th general manager of the
agency between June 2013 when he took over the management
of the agency till April 20 2016, he also used the opportunity to
thank the Governor Dr. Ikpeazu who during his tenure as general
manager of the agency created the enabling laws/amendments
under which ASPIMS is operating today.
In his speech,he said the agency is currently paying march
salaries and thanked the staff who worked with him during his
time as General Manager he also praised them for their hard
work,understanding,loyalty and patriotism which he said made his
stay at ASPIMS successful.

the new General Manager Chief Megwara said that as one who
had served the state in different capacities he will put his
experience to bear in making sure that ASPIMS become a model
agency for other states to copy from, he also said that he is
putting in place an effective emergency response strategy that
will ensure that very soon little or no lives will be lost in our
highways as a result of accidents and injuries, he also announced
that the governor had procured four state of the art ambulances
from Germany for the agency which will ensure that accident
victims gets urgent medical attention while being rushed to
nearest hospital, he also said that he will introduce the use of
paramedics who will be on beats to attend to accident victims.
He thanked the Governor Dr. Ikpeazu for founding him worthy to
be appointed as the 11th general manager of the agency and
also praised his predecessor for his achievements and promised
to move ASPIMS to a higher level.
The ceremony which was performed in the General Managers
office was witnessed by the key management staff of the
agency,the press, friends and well wishers of both the out going
and incoming general managers and was opened with a prayer
by Rev. Alozie.
