ABIA’S E4E TAKES NEW TURN, AS GOVERNMENT ENGAGES GRADUATES
Abia State Technical/Vocational Education for Employment (E4E)
programme designed to facilitate direct and self-employment for
the graduates and youths has taken a new turn.
The State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ikechi Mgbeoji, in
the week, said government would begin to engage the graduates
directly in some of its projects like school renovation.
Addressing students and instructors in Umuahia, the
Commissioner stressed the importance of technical education,
saying government is working towards holistic education policy
that would be backed by law after holding education summit.
Chairman, State House of Assembly Education Committee, Chief
Thomas Nkoro, who described the introduction of the
programme, as timely, said the state lawmakers would give it the
necessary legal backing.
E4E programme coordinator, Mr. Endi Ezengwa, said over 2000
industries would be collaborating with it to train 35,000 youths
from across the state.
