Paul Kalu: The achievements of Dr Ikpeazu can not be swept under the carpet

Gov. Ikpeazu
...His great fit which include construction of new roads, rehabilitating old ones, building of bridges, new classroom blocks street lights a new flyover , delivery of new medical facilities and the payment of outstanding salaries.

...All this achievement are for the good of the people of Abia, but due to greed and crave for self sympathy this achievement have been undermined.

An Abia businessman Mr Paul Kalu narrates his experience with a local government staff.  According to him, the local government staff was owing his customer money, but kept telling her that she was been owed by the state government, and promised to settle her debt once her salary is paid.

he said: "On a curtsey visit to his customers she laments the debt owed by her debtor due to the state government non payment of salaries, this came as a shock to Mr Kalu, he took his time to enlighten the woman on the salary arrears challenge of the present administration and how the governor has been able to offset the arrears of staffs of MDAs which constitute about 70% of the civy service workforce and how local government have been paid down to may 2017."

According to Kalu, his customer called and challenged her debtor whom acknowledged she had been paid and promised to pay immediately.

" Her  case is just one out of many cases where Local government staffs have refused to acknowledge the fact that they have been paid just to get sympathy thereby spoiling the image of this current administration. Kanu said "

According to Paul,  the MDAs in Abia that constitutes 70% of civil service workforce has been paid up to July 2017. Meaning they are not owed again.

LGA Staffs: Owed only two months arrears. Meaning they have received all the arrears this administration inherited and paid up-to May 2017, leaving them with only June and July 2017 salaries outstanding which will be cleared soon.

He also revealed that,  "primary school Teachers: two months arrears. Meaning their case is same as Local government staffs.

Secondary school Teachers: Three months arrears. Their arrears are paid up to April 2017.
LGA and MDAs pensioners: 5 and 6months arrears respectively."

According to him it's sad as it could be that a worker who rightfully deserves his wages is been owed, noting the fact that  it is heartwarming that the present Governor has the interest of the workers at heart hence the 100% application of the last tranche of the Paris club refund to offsetting of salaries and pensions arrears.

"While other states applied only about 50-70% as recommended by the FG, Governor Okezie decided to commit all of the about 5.7billion naira to workers welfare. Many have openly tarnished the governors image in open but apologise in secret just like Mr Paul Kalu experienced, although the governor has stated that his administration is opened to criticism, all criticism should be based on facts." he said.
