According to Don Norman Obinna Chief T A Orji as a first time senator has done well in the red chamber.

According to him Food Security Bill that he sponsored is a bill that will ensure that food reaches every person. It will remove hunger. There are people who are hungry in this country. There are people who cannot afford two good meals in a day, the poor in the village. So the bill is aimed at making sure that they get what they can eat, including those who are disabled, including women who are mothers who are breastfeeding their babies. So it’s a bill that is very dear to t a orji, and he is  happy that it was received very well in the Senate and once it’s passed into law and implemented you will see the result. It will be for the benefit of every person both the rich and the poor.


"Some of sen t a orjj bills in­clude the Nigerian Invest­ment Promotion Council Act Cap N 117 2004 Repeal and Reenactment Bill (1st Read­ing), with the objective to further encourage, promote and co-ordinate investment in the Nigerian economy; National Planning Process Bill 2015, SB.73 (1st Read­ing); and Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contracts Act CAP PD3 LFN 2004 (Amend­ment), Bill 2015 (SB – 11 9) (2nd Reading).  Others are the Nigerian Biodiversity Bill 2015 (SB 79), (1st Reading); Constitu­tion of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (Alteration), Portfolio Designation Bill 2015 (1st Reading), Deoxy­ribonucleic Acid (DNA), Bill 2015 (SB 78), (1st Reading); a bill for an Act to Establish a Centre for Diseases Control and other Related Matters (1st Reading) and Food Se­curity Bill, 2015 (2nd Read­ing), with the objective to compel government to pro­vide quality food as part of its primary responsibilities."

Sen. Orji also provide his constituents with means of steady income by empowering indigent trad­ers, transporters and artisans with 20 sewing machines, 20 grinding machines, 20 2.5 KVA generating sets, eight tricycles, (Keke), 14 motor­cycles, two 18-seater buses, 15 wheel chairs and 100 liq­uid fertilizers to farmers, which the Abia State Minis­try of Agriculture said will enrich over 200, 000 hectares of farm land.  Again, with 200,000 hect­ares of farm land enriched in Abia Central where Sen. Orji had already revolution­ized farming with donation of tractors and other mecha­nized farming equipment to farmers



Theodore Orji, also awarded at least 60 members of his district with tertiary education scholarships. Orji, who is the immediate past state governor of the state, according to his media adviser  of each of the six Local Councils of his senatorial district. He said that the scholarships were intended for ten persons in each Local council, who must be indigent undergraduates.
