PROFILE OF THE PRESIDENT OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SOCIAL MEDIA PRACTIONERS OF NIGERIA, COMRADE SUNNY BASIKORO:
Comrade Sunday Basikoro popularly called Sunny hails from Edjophe town, in Ughelli south LGA of Delta state. He was born on the 16th of June, 1976 at Edjophe maternity home. He had his early primary education in Edjophe in the 80s at Or how he primary school Edjophe/Iwhrekan and rounded it up at Okwagbe primary school in 1989. From where he proceeded to Owhrode mixed with secondary school, Owhrode in 1991 to 1997 and had his SSCE in the year 2000 at Edjekota secondary, Edjekota - Ogor in Ughelli North LGA of Delta state.
Comrade Sunday got into Delta state University in the year 2001 and graduated in the year 2007 with B.L.S in library and Information Science. Sunny Basikoro had his NYSC in IMO state and did his service from 2008-2009 where he was made as the head of press group Delta state. Sunny Basikoro as he is popularly called is married with children. As ChristianaChristian by faith and private business man, C.E.O Basynat Nigeria enterprises, politician, social commentator and youth artivist whose tutelage became the founder of a social political group known as Urhobo Interest Initiative-UII metamorphozised into Delta Interest Initiative DII.
He is a writer and a social media guru. Presently serving as the social media assistant to the minority whip of the Delta state 6th assembly, Hon. Chief Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor. He was the director of social media, Urhobo progress Union -UPU youth wing. In the course rendering what he knows ,he was awarded as the best social man in Urhobo land by Urhobowood in 2015 by custodian of Urhobo arts and culture entertainment group.
Sunny has so many incisive written works to his chest, prints and electronics. In early 2016 ,he bagged the award of the best social media practioner by Rotaract Club of Ughelli. All the above are what has spurred him to initiate the National Association Of Social Media Practioners Of Nigeria (NASMPON) ,an umbrella that will cover social media users in Nigeria to find a path to collective growth to better Nigeria as a nation.
