Umuahia Pastor, Others Paraded For Armed Robbery(PHOTOS)


The police in Lagos State Command have paraded 36 suspects over their
alleged involvement in various criminal activities in Lagos State, western
Nigeria.

The suspects were paraded by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr
Fatai Owoseni, on Friday.

Among those arrested include Pastor Titus Onwuchekwa of the Presbyterian
Church, Umuahia in Abia State, Osas Felix from Edo State who specialized in
buying stolen vehicles from robbers and selling to unsuspecting people.

Other suspects are Bola Salami, 30, Opeyemi Aregbesola, 28, Chibuike Umeh,
22, and Ndibe Samuel.

According to CP Owoseni, the police recovered an unregistered Toyota 4
Runner SUV, Toyota Camry with registration number AAA 391 AA, Toyota
Camry with number FKJ 441 DV, Lexus Rx30 with number LSR 520 RF,
Toyota Highlander SUV with number LSR 492 DX and Mitsubishi Pajero SUV
with number SMK 484 DS.

Owoseni also paraded suspected cultist who he alleged had been terrorizing
members of the public.
Those he paraded are Oluwaseyi Adetifa, Nofiu Ramoni, Saka Apalara, Ahmed
Apalara and Waisu Alaparara who were arrested in Igando in their hideout.
Twelve guns, six axes and four cutlasses were recovered from them, he said.

Other suspected criminals, among those paraded by CP Oweseni, made
confessional statements admitting that they were involved in kidnapping,
fraud, motorcycle robbery among others.

Oweseni while parading the suspects said it was obvious that the rate of
crime and other criminal activities was gradually declining in the state.
He noted that it was due to human capacity of the force and the quantum of
logistics and moral support given to the Command by the State government.

He informed journalists that the police were able to achieve these withing two
weeks, between 7 January to 21 January, 2016.
Owoseni said criminals have no hiding place as raids on suspected criminal
hideouts are being intensified with collaboration with other security agencies
to reduce crime rate.

He said the command has taken certain measures for effective security, one
of such was permanent phone calls to various area commanders and police
divisions for information dissemination between the police and public.
Owoeni also unveiledhe new police uniform for FSARS for easy identification
for their operation in the state.
