Dr Godson Nwigwe is an American base Evangelist from Osisioma Ngwa local government of Abia state, he was the guber candidate of UPP for the just concluded general election.
You won't believe his reasons of leaving UPP.
Read his press release here >>
It is with deep sense of
patriotism that I participated
in Abia guber race in 2015. My
participation was born out of
burning desire to correct the inadequacies in a state that
was grossly abused &
battered by the then
governor T.A Orji.
There was
deep rooted corruption in the
state, infrastructural decay, unemployment, harassment
of innocent citizens by the
government, overcharged
taxation, and general abuse of
power & office by
government officials.
Having been in the US for over
a decade, and having known
how a state should be run
(even in advanced countries),
I was greatly disturbed seeing
the decay in Abia state.
My spirit was touched and I
decided that I must change
the situation and better the
lives of my people. There
could not have been a better
platform to help my people out this ugly quagmire other
than taking up the challenge
of becoming a governor of
the state.
I knew it was not going to be
easy because of the stronghold of evil in Abia was
enormous.
I banked on the
support of God Almighty and
the good people of Abia to
fight the good battle.
This, I
am still appreciative for them that supported me.
My decision to leave UPP was
born out of my desire to
uphold a principle of social
justice. The party leadership
derailed from the principle upon which my campaign
promises to the people was
built.
I believe in
transparency, equity, fairness,
social justice, & social
development.
The party lacks internal democracy and I have
decided to leave.
Having left UPP, I shall take
time to study the political
parties to know their
programs and what they stand for, before joining any
of them.
I shall not join any
party that is anti people in
policy.
I shall always be on
the side of the people.
Thanks
and God bless the people of Abia, God's own people.
God
bless Nigeria.
Godson Nwigwe
