TANTRUMS AGAINST SEN. ORJI! BY WHO?

One of my face book friends who has made it part of his daily routine to call my attention to malicious articles, photo shopped pictures and news stories written against Sen. Orji by some individuals was furious and wanted to know the reason(s) why I have refused to respond to these tantrums. In his own judgment, their actions were libelous and tantamount to blackmail; absolutely unacceptable and should be taken seriously.


 I however felt his discontentment when I trivialized his observation by simply telling him that nobody has written anything against our amiable Sen. Orji. What!!!!!! Yes! Based on the nine (9) globally acceptable essential components of news (which I am sure the writers were unfamiliar with), those malicious stories written against Sen. Orji did not meet news standard and as such do not required a professional response.

For instance, PERSONALITY is one of the vital components of news; who is the individual that said it? E.G if a drunk Fulani man addressed the Igbo nation as “thieves” or “stupid people” except nonentities, no attention will be paid to such comment by the media and the society because the person lacks credibility and public relevance, however if President Buhari or any known important personality uses such pejorative terms against the Igbo nation it will attract public condemnation/different reactions or trigger public unrest.


Seriously speaking, how do I respond to write ups against Sen. Orji by insignificant persons who are not even popular among their village age group peers and are only known by their pocket sized face book friends? Professionally, these write ups are nothing but mere beer palour and roadside gossips between ignorant and unexposed individuals as the writers had demonstrated. This is the reason I have not and will never respond to tantrums against Sen. Orji by insignificant persons no matter how many times I was tagged. I am sure my friend’s nerves must be calmed by now with this explanation.
