E4E STAKEHOLDERS IN AGRICULTURE ENGAGEMENT MEETING, Follow the link for details(Read, Comment and Share)
It was yet another eventful day on the 4th of November as the
Abia State E4E (Education 4 Employment) facilitators met with
the stakeholders in agriculture at the Aguiyi Ironsi Conference
Centre in Umuahia.
The stakeholders' engagement meeting was
one in a series of meetings which has been going on involving all
stakeholders in the E4E program in Abia State.
The meeting which brought together all leading Agricultural
Organizations, Agro-Allied businesses, and representatives from
the Federal and State Ministries of Agriculture, small scale
farmers and Kiara College – the facilitators of the meeting was
coordinated by Endi Ezengwa the consultant for the State on E4E
program.
It will be recalled that the governor, upon taking over the realms
of the state promised to train 100,000 Abia unemployed youth
within 4 years.
To achieve this, the E4E program was initiated
having in mind the governor's vision which is hinged on 5 pillars
of his economic agenda- Agriculture, Commerce, Industry, Oil and
Gas and Education.
Based on this, the meeting was held to find
a way forward towards making agriculture a key contributor to the
economy of the state as well as absorbing as many youth as
possible who will be actually engaged in various agricultural
endeavors from farming, poultry, fisheries and animal husbandry.
Speaking at the occasion, the Special Adviser to the Governor on
Agriculture Mr. Amanze Israel welcomed the participants and said
even though he sent out the invitations; the program was actually
that of E4E implored the participants to key into the program
because it was a laudable one.
Delivering his address, Mr. Endi Ezengwa said that the meeting
was organized to harness the potentials that abound in the state
and to partner with farmers in order to achieve set goals.
The session was interactive and participants had the opportunity
to contribute and also ask questions concerning the program.
They were assured that government would do its part in
enhancing those who will participate in absorbing the trainees in
terms of incentives, financing and product marketing etc.
