1153 ABIA YOUTHS SELECTED FOR N-BUILD
1153 Abia youths have been successful in the selection of N Power Building Services skill training and empowerment programme under the Social Investment Programme. The successful candidates will commence physical verification exercise from Monday November 11, 2017 at the different Local Government Area Offices of the National Orientation Agency.
The N Build programme is structured to train middle level manpower for building services skills in the state. The beneficiaries will undergo 3-6 months training and after which they will be equipped with startup tools to start their own businesses. During the course of training each beneficiary will receive stipends to sustain them during the training. The areas of training include electrical, plumbing, block work, carpentry, furniture and joinery etc.
In Abia State 6 training centres have been accredited by the federal government for the training.

3. Federal Technical College Ohanso
4. NDE Skill Centre Umuahia
5. NDE Skill Centre Arochukwu
6. NDE Skill Centre Aba
Briefing newsmen the State Focal Person for Social Investment Chinenye Nwaogu stated that the programme will go a long way to take more youths out of the job market and equip them properly with real empowerment and skills for a life time. He urged beneficiaries to take the oppprtunity serious and make effective use of the programme. He said that those wttacking the governor should rather devote their energy to maximizing available opportunities for the good of their people and the vulnerable in the society. He added that the Governor is poised to ensure that Abians derive maximum dividends of democracy under his watch. In the event of the down turn in the economic fortunes of the country, he urged youths to seize any available opportunity to improve their livelihood.
He further informed the newsmen that the warehouse housing all the training equipment for the entire south east is in Abia State and has been fully stocked with all the required training materials. He thanked the Governor for his leadership which has earned Abia a priority state and the centre for the entire Southeast for this programme.
Mr Nwaogu insisted that the Governor's commitment to partner with the federal government to implement this programmes in the state has attracted billions into the economy of the state and has generally raised the living star card of beneficiaries and the general public.
