YOUTHS WITH GOOD LEADERSHIP QUALITIES SHOULD BE PUT IN KEY FRONTLINE POSITIONS - JUSTICE CHIGOZIE FORTUNE
By Justice Fortune
Thank you The Voice News Magazine (the Widest Circulating Magazine in Holland) for capturing an Article I made on this street on “the Need to Change Standing Norms” in the June Edition of your reputable Magazine.
I reiterate my resolve to support youths with track records in taking over the mantle of leadership from the old cartel cum politicians who have held us hostage for so long a time.
We must change the popular but erroneous belief that Nation Building is the exclusive preserve of some aged politicians. This rather unfortunate belief has made the youths to be reluctant in participating and taking up leadership positions and responsibilities that will help in building this nation.
As I indicated in my last Article, youths are like the ENGINE of every nation without which the nation just like the car will not move an inch. You now know why Nigeria has refused to progress? Then again, will this cartel allow us to be actively engaged? When they prefer to give us gun and bullet instead of pen and paper, they prefer to teach us how to close elections which is not in their favour, they prefer to show us high ways for robbery instead of class room for learning, they have denied us the benefit of sound education, infesting our minds with low morality, loss of value and age stereotype just for their selfish interests. Governments that empower youths with wheelbarrows and graduates with Okada should be done with. Youths must sacrifice today’s comfort to secure a better tomorrow.
It is pertinent I state here without mincing words, that, the call for youths to be given ample opportunity to steer the ship of this nation does not mean that the elders are no longer relevant; it does not entail lack of confidence in Elderly judgment. It only means youths with good leadership qualities should be put in key frontline leadership positions not just Media Aides. Our elders should play advisory roles; they are to give us wise counsel based on their dreams while we lead based on our vision. This is in line with Joel 2: 28 of our holy book (Bible) which states that; “…….., your old men shall dream dreams and your young men shall see visions.
Whilst I thank immensely Comrade Sunny Ofehe for answering this call to help build a new Nigeria starting from his Home town Delta, I want to also appeal to all Nigerian youths world over to take same bold and pragmatic step to accelerate positive change in the economic development of this country.
We make up 70℅ of Nigerian population, we can not continue as pawns on chess. #ANewNigeriaIsPosible.
