STUDENT RUSH TRADE SCHOOLS TO HONE SKILLS, BE EMPLOYED NOW..... Follow The Link To Know More


More students now seek admission into the three Technical/
Trade/Vocational Schools designated for the practical skills
education in Abia State under the newly introduced Education For
Employment Programme (E4E). This was made known during the
sensitization meeting on the E4E held at BTC Aba last week.

The three designated schools each located in the three senatorial
zones of the state are Boys Technical College (BTC), Aba (Abia
South), Afara Technical Umuahia (Abia Central), and Ohafia
Technical School, Ohafia (Abia North).

The meeting discussed how parents/guardians and old students
of trade schools would partner in the programme by way of
becoming part-time Instructors, providers of needed facilities
such as tools, workshops and others.

Principal of the BTC, Mr. Godwin Nnamdi, has called for the
engagement of more technical teachers/instructors and
construction of workshops and others to enable them meet up
with the objectives of the progrmame.

The Programme Consultant, Mr. Endi Ezengwa, disclosed that the
programme aims at teaching students practical skills in the areas
that are in high demand in factories and also the enable them
become not only employable, but employers of labour. He added
that the state government would empower the graduates with
start-up logistics.
