Callers lambast Onwuasoanya, call him "evil", "non-Imolite" over support for ban of keke (tricycles)

Ambassador Saviola Godwyn, the President of Youth Vanguard for Good Governance International (YVGGI) faced off with Onwuasoanya Fcc Jones (Imo APC member) on a radio phone-in programme #SayItLoud on #ZandersFm 105.7, where the topic was the ban on keke in the city of Owerri by the Okorocha-led regime.

ad In his words, Amb. Saviola condemned the demolition of Eke Ukwu market and the killings thereof and sympathised with the families of the victims. He then condemned the ban of keke in the city of Owerri as "it will further impoverish the already groaning masses who are still wailing and weeping against the demolition of Eke Ukwu Owerre market. He also said that the ban was anti-people and retrogressive as it will create thousands of unemployment and increase in all kinds of (unavoidable) crime." He advised the government to "let keke drivers operate side by side with the 300 taxis (He is giving them out at N1million outright payment and N2.5million hire purchase) he is bringing. He said that "even in Mumbai, Shanghai the capital cities of India and China (biggest economies in the world) were these tricycles are produced, that they operate uptil today."

In his reaction, Jones, an APC member praised the Okorocha government on the ban of keke saying that, "the governor has done well as Owerri is not good for keke operations and the people should endure the hardship that comes with the ban and support the governor".

Callers on the programme showered praises and encomiums on Amb. Saviola Godwyn for "standing against tyranny and dictatorship of the Okorocha government that has no human face", according to Pastor Victor Ugochukwu. Another caller by name Kingsley called the keke ban an "evil policy of the government to further make Imolites suffer after demolishing Eke Ukwu market. Is Onwuasonya from Imo state, why is he supporting this evil he asked?"

All the callers but one condemned the ban on keke and appealed to governor Rochas Okorocha to "reverse his decision for the good of Imolites and Imo state."
