Abia government set to sponsor a 40-man delegation of the Abia business community to a trade mission to Turkey

The Abia State government said it
has concluded arrangements to sponsor a 40-man delegation of the Abia
business community to a trade mission to Turkey in a decent time.

The chief of staff to the Governor of Abia state, Chief Chijioke
Nwakodo disclosed this while discussing with a seven-man team of
investors from Turkey when they called on him in his office in
Umuahia, said that the government would also be interested in
equipping the leather and garment manufacturers with the necessary
exposures that would enhance the industry.

He assured the investors of the state government's readiness to
partner them in the areas of developing an industrial city, Diaspora
village in leather and garment in any area of their choice.

In his speech, the leader of the delegation from Turkey, Mr Abdullah
Basci who is the chairman of Konsaid-Konya businessmen and
industrialists
Association, Turkey, said that they were in the state to interact with
the Abia.

Basci said that he is aware that there is trade mission delegates from
the state to Turkey and would like to discuss with them and identify
their areas of business concern before their arrival in Turkey.

He stated their readiness to invest in Abia in the areas of
developing an industrial city, leather and garment industries,
stressing that such village will be of immense benefit to both the
state and Turkish country.

Highlight of the visit was an interaction between the Turkish group
and the Abia business community as well as meeting with the private-
public partnership and investment promotions team of the government.
